Socks, Puzzles (and Other Fun Stuff!) for Signage is an ongoing effort to raise money for interpretive signage in Kane County, Illinois, Parks and Forest Preserves. This effort began late 2024, and to date, over $4000 has been donated to the Kane Forest Preserve Foundation through your purchase of our map-based products! This includes socks woven with the design of the surficial geology map of Kane County and puzzles that feature the fabulous Michigan SeaGrant watershed map of the Great Lakes Basin.
To purchase directly from GEOSOX, the minimum donation for a pair of socks is $20 and for a 1000-piece puzzle is $25. If shipping is required, that will cost extra. In Kane County, GEOSOX brand socks and puzzles can be purchased at pick-up at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles and Hawthorne Hill Nature Center in Elgin.

To purchase puzzles or to include additional funds with your donation, please use the “Custom Amount” option. Be sure to state that it’s for puzzles and/or bonus funding in your message, otherwise it will be assumed that you are purchasing socks.
$10 from the sale of each pair of socks or puzzles goes towards our “Socks for Signage” campaign.
