Since 2023 an annual luxury motorcoach tour has been sponsored by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County as a “Learn From the Expert” (LFE) event.

enjoyed a picnic lunch before the 2nd half of the tour.
The November 12, 2024 report of the “Community Affairs & Environmental Education Department” to the Kane County Forest Preserve District Comission has this to say about the tour:
“Along with KCCNer David Schoenknecht, Environmental Education Manager Barb McKittrick co-led the 2nd annual Glacial Lake Pingree Circle Tour, a sold out (64 patrons) 5-hour bus tour of the geologic wonders of Kane County.
Starting at Creek Bend Nature Center, attendees boarded a bus and proceeded to travel in and around the bed of the now-extinct, but once vast, Glacial Lake Pingree. KCCNer Schoenknecht and Environmental Education Manager McKittrick provided audio commentary and showed educational slides and video throughout the journey. Stops at eight forest preserves and a local regenerative agriculture farm highlighted the geologic features of this Ice Age wonder.”
